Mishaps are a part and parcel of life. When we visit a restaurant and we’re served cold food, we request the server to reheat it and it’s not a great hassle. If the taste of the food is not up to the mark, we raise a concern with the manager and well, the dish is replaced. However, what happens when you order food online? There is no one at your immediate service to ear your concerns. In such a case, social media seems like the best resort. Something like that happened quite recently in the UK and we’re kind of disgusted.

A school teacher in the UK who reportedly goes by the name Chloe Walshaw ordered a roast dinner meal from Toby Carvery, a famous restaurant in England. She was happily enjoying her meal until she discovered a snail in it. Oh yes, you read that right. It was a snail and well, it definitely wasn’t something that usually comes with the order she had placed. Here’s the proof.

In the picture, you can see that the snail is right on top of the box and she is terrified with the experience. On contacting the restaurant, she was asked to request a refund from Uber Eats and also received a voucher worth 40 pounds as a way of apology and compensation. The 24-year old had ordered the meal for her boyfriend and herself on New Years’ Day and was petrified and “physically sick” with what she saw, as per the reports of Metro UK. She even mentioned how she mistook them for peas and thankfully, realized it was a snail before her fork digged into it.

Now that is something that is utterly disgusting but we know what can level up your mood. If you’re much of a foodie and hardcore non-vegetarian, try these snail delicacies and let us know if you liked them.

1.  Gourmet Snail

This is fresh to home, directly from the garden kind of recipe. The snails are braised in a light sauce and snail caviars are bunched together with leek, celery, onion, carrots as well as herbs like thyme to add freshness and aroma to the dish.

2.  Snails In Garlic Butter Herb

This is a light and breezy dish which is easy to make and a little difficult to pronounce in its French name as Escargots À La Bourguignonne. The melted butter is flavoured with crushed garlic and a herby touch is given to it with the addition of parsley and peppercorns. The snails are lightly tossed in this buttery mixture before it is served.

3.  Snail, Nettle And Sorrel Pies

These crunchy and crispy pies are stuffed with snails, nettle and sorrels. Brushed with butter and tossed in some garlic for a strong and delicious flavour.
