Viral: "Modi Ji Thali" The Latest Craze In New Jersey

In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the United States, Akbar restaurant based in New Jersey has introduced a special thali in his honour, according to ANI. Indian-origin restaurant owner, Shripad Kulkarni, has curated a special thali menu based on the requests of the local Indian community.

Mr. Kulkarni may be seen in the video discussing the "Modi Ji" thali in greater detail, and the video was uploaded to Twitter. The colourful thali, which features mouthwatering delicacies from different regions of India, contains foods such as khichdi, rasgulla, sarson ka saag, Kashmiri dum aloo, idli, dhokla, chaach, papad, and many more.

The special thali at the restaurant has been gaining popularity as people in the video have already savoured its flavours. The thali dish has been making waves amongst the Indian community, with many customers raving about its deliciousness. In fact, some customers even made an appearance in a video to express their love for the dish. Food enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the price of the thali to be revealed.

"We plan to launch this thali soon. I'm very positive that it's going to gain popularity. Once this does well I also plan to launch a Dr Jaishankar Thali, because he too has that rockstar appeal amongst the Indian American community," he added.

The 'thali' also pays respect to the fact that the year 2023 has been designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Millets, following a recommendation made by the Indian government in 2019.

On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first official visit to the United States, President Joseph R. Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will host a dinner for Mr. Modi on June 22. It is expected that he will make history by being the first Indian Prime Minister to deliver a speech to a joint session of Congress in the United States for the second time.

When it comes to 'thalis' devoted to him, Prime Minister Modi is no stranger. A Delhi eatery debuted the 56-inch Narendra Modi Thali last year in honour of the Prime Minister's birthday on September 17. Restaurant ARDOUR 2.1 in Connaught Place, India, introduced the 'thali' with 56 vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
