For instance, in the latest development, an ‘unnecessary invention’ has caught the eyes of foodies around the world. One man on the internet has created a unique invention called the ‘food funnel’, which is focused on saving food by reusing what is either spilled or is extra. In a video, the man shows the use of his handy equipment by eating a burrito.
Now, people who’ve eaten a burrito would know how eating the Mexican wrap is quite a messy affair, with the stuffing spilling all over the place. What this unique invention does is collect all these fillings through the open end of the funnel, and let it fall into the narrow end where he places an empty taco shell, making a new taco from the spilt food. Sounds genius, doesn’t it?!
In the video, we see how the funnel is like a plate with a hole in the centre through which the food passes on to the bottom, where the man has another taco bread with all the spilled stuffing. The video was shared on the Instagram page called ‘9GAG’, from where this foodie invention soon went viral, with the video garnering 20 million views and over 700k likes. The video was originally uploaded by Instagram handle @unnecessaryinvention and reshared by @9gag, but the brains behind this genius invention is Matty Benedetto.
The product designer claims to be self-taught, and is known for creating mind-bending yet unnecessary inventions. With a following of over 1.3 million followers, Matty keeps on sharing inventions that might not be needed in practical life for most people, but can be a lifesaver for some. For instance, this food funnel is a godsent gift for messy eaters of the world who can't help but spill food while eating.
