The chicken was cooked by three other ladies at the magazine, and their partners also proposed. According to the back of Glamour's 2011 cookbook, 100 Recipes Every Woman Should Know: Engagement Chicken and 99 Other Fabulous Dishes to Get You Everything You Want, the magazine's editors have heard of more than 60 women getting engaged after making the chicken. 

Even though the dish does not have a particularly significant historical background or origin, it rose to prominence as a result of the delectable blend of flavours and velvety consistency that it offers. Ingredients: 

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 

Salt and pepper to taste 

2 tablespoons olive oil 

4 cloves of garlic, minced 

1 cup chicken broth 

1 cup heavy cream 

1/4 cup pesto sauce 

Fresh basil leaves for garnish 

Method: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Put the chicken breasts in the pan and cook them for about four to five minutes on each side, or until they become a golden brown colour. Take out of the pan and put to the side. Add minced garlic to the same pan and sauté for 1 minute, or until fragrant. Scrape the browned bits off the bottom of the pan and add chicken broth to the skillet. Incorporate the heavy cream and bring the dish to a low simmer. Stir in the pesto sauce to the pan. The chicken breasts should be returned to the pan and the sauce should be poured over them.
