Let’s just agree that biryani is indeed one of the most popular delicacies in India. The slow-cooked rice bowl meal offers a burst of aromatic flavours that are unmatched, and the sheer variety makes us drool each time we sit to order some or make it at home. If you need more proof, visit a local biryani outlet and you’ll see a crowd gathered there each time. Thinking of a bowl full of flavourful rice and succulent meat layered one after another, already? 

A conversation about biryani cannot miss the city of Hyderabad, popular for the Hyderabadi Biryani. While Hyderabadi cuisine offers a variety of delicious delicacies, the biryani is unmissable, and is famous throughout the country. So much so that many people even say that to visit the city and not eat the Hyderabadi Biryani is a sin for foodies. As Hyderabad is synonymous with biryanis, a recent video from Hyderabad has gone viral, and saddened the hearts of foodies on the internet.  

With the monsoons in full swing, the heavy showers in Hyderabad have left the city heavily waterlogged. And in one of the flooded streets of the city, a desi foodie captured two huge biryani vessels floating away. Shot in front of a local eatery known as Adiba Hotel in Hyderabad, it seems like the biryani vessels belonged to this eatery. This short clip went viral in no time, leaving biryani lovers heartbroken. “Somebody is going to be unhappy for not getting his biryani order”, read the caption in the video, and people can't help but relate to it. Shared by @IbnFaraybi on Twitter, the video has already garnered over 1.1 million views, over 400 likes and several retweets. While it is definitely a sad situation, people can't help but find humour in this tragedy. Seeing the biryani utensils float away seemed poetic on many levels to users who poured out all their creativity in the comments and retweets.  

From people renaming the dum biryani to Tairti Biryani to commenting on a new mode of food delivery, people could not stop showcasing the level of creativity on seeing the viral video.
