David and Victoria Beckham are icons whom many people adore. While the former is a football legend, his wife is a fashion icon. And thus, people around the world, especially women, look up to Victoria - not just for her style, but also how she maintains herself, what she eats and more.
Now, the husband has spilled the beans on Victoria’s diet, and it is quite shocking! He revealed that the singer-songwriter and fashion designer has been eating the same food for the past quarter century. Yes, you read that right. On a podcast for The River Cafe’s Table 4 with restaurant founder Ruth Rogers, David opened up about food in the Beckham home – including his wife’s likes and dislikes in the kitchen. And he revealed that Victoria has eaten the same meal every day since he met her more than 25 years ago.
“She only eats grilled fish and steamed vegetables. She will very rarely deviate from that,” he said with a laugh. He further said, “The only time she’s probably ever shared something that’s been on my plate was actually when she was pregnant with Harper, and it was the most amazing thing… It was one of my favourite evenings. I can’t remember what it was but I know she’s not eaten it since!”
Grilled fish is a delicious choice though, but eating only that for 25 years! Now, that is some dedication. According to a report in the Vogue magazine, Victoria herself revealed during her own Table 4 chat that she is indeed a fussy eater, which basically means that no oil, butter or even sauce makes it to her daily meals. In fact, her go-to comfort food is simply a piece of plain-old wholegrain toast, with salt on top. Yes, that’s it.
David, on the other hand, loves to experiment a bit in the kitchen. Apparently, he likes to whip up everything - from parmesan to noodles and pies. The 46-year-old international sportsperson recently marked the Chinese New Year on February 1 by cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Guess what he cooked? A sweet-and-sour Mandarin fish. And it was none other than celebrity chef Gordon Ransay who lent out his kitchen to the sports star.
David took to Instagram to share a video of him cooking fish. In the video, we can see him cutting a fish fillet and deep frying it after dipping it in a batter. He then prepared a delicious sauce in a wok and drizzled it on the fish. The sports legend was later seen relishing the delicious fish and wishing his fans a Happy New Year in Mandarin. Seems like the Beckhams are quite a fan of fish. And well, finally there’s one thing in common between us. I love to gorge on grilled fish too alongside crispy veggies, but can experiment with fried fish like David Beckham or the yummy baked fish as well. What do you think David Beckham's Mandarin Fish? Let us know.
