Vodka as a drink has been the part starter, the one spirit that gets the ball rolling. There is a bone of contention among the Russians and Polish folks regarding which was the country where it originated in the 8th or 9th century. It was initially not the fun alcoholic drink that it is now, vodka’s first known use was as an antibiotic that helped in cleaning wounds. In fact, vodka got popular in both Russia and Poland during World War – II, when Russians used it to warm themselves while Polish soldiers used to smuggle information through bottles of vodka. It is a drink that goes bad once it is opened, because it has no preservatives.
