Try These Cocktail Bullet Potatoes For Your Next House Party

Weekends are usually meant to go out and chill with your friends and family. To take a break from the monotonous routine, the best way is to immerse yourself in the world beyond work. If there is anything that this pandemic has taught us, it is to value our time and memories and make the most of what we have. However, this is not to say that the Coronavirus scare has been completely eliminated. Although the rise in cases subsided for a while, medical professionals profess that the virus is here to stay. This doesn’t mean that we have to put a stop to our lives. We can avoid going out as frequently as earlier and plan something at home. Like a house party?

The week is about to come to an end and if you’re planning a house party, we bet there’s going to be a lot of work that goes into making it happen. Right from the theme and décor to the guest list and food, everything will be on your tiny shoulders. What if we say that we could share the load with you by taking care of the food. Since it is a house party, there ought to be games, dancing and singing. In such a case, finger food and easy-to-eat snacks work best. Can you think of something? No, we aren’t talking about those frozen snacks that you simply toss on a pan and serve. Why not make something special and surprise your guests with your cooking skills?

Home chef Sonia Sarpal shares with us an easy and quick Cocktail Bullet potato recipe. Cheesy, bite-sized potatoes arranged on skewers and grilled to perfection seems like a good idea for your house party, doesn’t it? Potatoes are a very versatile ingredient when it comes to cooking. Right from a crispy snack that can be savoured in the evening to a spicy and hot curry to be paired with rotis and rice for main course, potatoes can do it all. They can even fit into soups as well as desserts. If you want to try it too, here’s the step-by-step recipe.

Cocktail Bullet Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 500 gm baby potatoes
  • 500 ml water for boiling potatoes
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • I tsp chopped green chillies
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • Cocktail sticks

Method

  1. Firstly, boil the baby potatoes.
  2. In a pan, heat butter and add chopped garlic to it. Sauté for 1 min.
  3. Add salt, oregano, chilli flakes & green chillies. This helps to season the potatoes well.
  4. Mix well and add boiled potatoes.
  5. Toss them well.
  6. Insert cocktail sticks into potatoes. Be careful because the potatoes are tender and may break from the centre.
  7. Bake the potatoes for 5 mins in a pre-heated oven. This allows the dish to be prepared quickly.
  8. Add some grated cheese on the hot potatoes. You can serve them with the skewers and keep a tomato dip or chilli dip on the side.
