Holidays are all about relaxing, enjoying and noshing on all the delicious food as much as you can. And it seems like Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal are having the time of their lives as they spend their vacation in New York. While we do know how happening the city is, it looks like the trip is turning into an eating spree for the celebrity couple.

Just yesterday we told you about how Katrina revealed her ‘most favourite place’ – a restaurant called Bubby’s in New York, where the duo noshed on some drool-worthy pancakes. The American staple was topped with freshly cut strawberries, vanilla ice cream, berry compote and chocolate spread. Read more about it here. Now, after revealing her favourite place, Katrina has revealed her ‘new favourite drink’. Can you guess?

It’s none other than our very own haldi doodh, just with a spin of almond milk! Yes, you read that right. Taking to her Instagram stories, the Bollywood actor shared a picture of a glass full of what she called ‘turmeric latte’ and wrote, “New favourite...almond milk turmeric latte”, and added a sticker that said ‘yum yum’! Take a look at what she shared:

Looks amazing, doesn’t it? Turmeric latte or haldi doodh, however you want to call it, has several health benefits. Turmeric has been used as both a spice and as a medicinal herb since time immemorial. While it is hugely cultivated in India, turmeric has found fame across the world due to many health benefits. Turmeric contains compounds called curcuminoids, the most important of which is ‘curcumin’. It has powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatory effects. Several other health benefits include building immunity, aiding weight loss and digestion, boosting skin health and more. When combined with milk, a powerhouse of calcium, the drink helps in boosting immunity, bone-health and much more. Almond milk is a vegan alternative to cow milk, and is made from a blend of skinned almonds and good-quality water. It is considered one of the better options for vegans, as it is easy on the stomach and comes minus the harsh and often distasteful smell of cow’s milk.

Turmeric latte is one drink you can easily make at home, as all you need to do is whisk turmeric powder, ginger, cinnamon, honey and black pepper with milk of your choice. If you want to make it at home, we’ve got a detailed recipe which is made with almond and coconut milk. Click here for the recipe. While this is a classic recipe, a lot of people spin it with their own flavour including one made with coffee, and vanilla essence too.

Coming back to Katrina and Vicky, we are in love with their food binges and can’t wait to see what’s next in their NYC food diary!
