People who arrive, especially in the third and fourth blocks, do so with shopping in mind. While most try to finish their shopping and return home for the next meal, a significant number of shoppers decide to have a meal in one of Jayanagar's many restaurants. This restaurant enables us to eat farm-to-table meals, and they even sell a variety of organic handicrafts and retail products that are all about sustainability and conscious living. They even offer vegan and Jain food upon request. We had the Jackfruit Biryani, and we didn't even realize that it was a vegetarian biryani and not one with meat. Then Millet Pizzas and Avocado Kalakand were delicious.

A wonderful family restaurant, Jalpaan provides excellent service and delicious food at somewhat higher prices. Prices aside, the menu here is extensive, with offerings from both Continental and Indian cuisines. We started with two starters, namely Makai Seekh Kebab and Lazeez Kumb. Both were delectable. For the main courses, we ordered the Vilaiti Subzi Biryani and Soya Keema Matar. A heavenly combination, we must say. Do try desserts like Litchi Ki Teheri and Chocolate Jamun.

A restaurant with rooftop seating, Eshanya is a much sought after dinner destination in Jayanagar. We ordered a few Naans and Matar Paneer. The combination was simply amazing. For a change, we decided to try the Curd Rice. The Curd was thick and sweet and the Pomegranate Seeds in the dish elevated the flavor to a whole other level. Their special Gudbud ice cream and Sizzling Brownie are desserts worth trying.

Thyme And Whisk is a vegetarian restaurant that has an extensive variety in its menu that is full of international comfort food. First, we ordered the Mexican Tortilla Soup and weren't disappointed. Then we tried the Veg Handi and Paneer Khurchan. Finally we settled for a Biscoff Surprise and a Classic Tiramisu as desserts and we must say that we were more than satisfied.
USP Dishes: Peri Peri Platter and Melting Nachos.

Patios- Progressive Vegetarian Kitchen
With interiors that reminded us of Vietnamese and Japanese restaurants, this restaurant serves East Asian and Indian cuisines. We ordered the Laksa Soup and Manchow Soup. Both were yummy. They were so satiating and delicious that we had second thoughts about ordering further. Being foodies, we then ordered the Basil Fried Rice and the Thai Red and Green curries. A terrific combination, we must say!

This restaurant got its start in the year 1936 and was known for its pure Ghee Masala Dosa and Mysore Pak. These days, however, the place is famous for its North Indian and South Indian offerings. The Veg Spring Roll and Vegetable Manchurian we had were tasty. Next, we tried the Methi Makai Palak and Dal Tadka with some Jeera Rice and a Corn Capsicum Pulao which was simply delicious. The Anjeer Halwa and Moong Dal Halwa sweeten the culinary experience.

Part of the Sanman Gardenia, a business hotel in Jayanagar, Samskruti is a vegetarian restaurant that serves some classic and incredible North Indian, South Indian and Chinese dishes. Soups like Sweet Corn and Tomato Basil are mild yet flavorful. Malabar Gobi and Hara Bhara Kebab are splendid starters and for those that want something spicier, there's Tandoori Chaat and Lahori Subzi Seekh. We also tried the Baingan Masala and Diwani Handi with Methi Roti and Butter Kulcha.

With excellent lighting and interiors reminiscent of forts from the Middle Ages, this vegetarian restaurant serves up mouthwatering food at reasonable prices. South Indian breakfast dishes like Idlis, Dosas and Kesari Bath seem to get the most attention on Sunday mornings. The curries, like Veg Kolhapuri and Navratan Korma, are delicious. The various Paneer based dishes like Matar Paneer, Palak Paneer and Paneer Butter Masala go very well with their Rotis, Naans and Kulchas.

With a mind-boggling number of dishes on their buffet, this restaurant serves vegetarian food. One probably had to go to this place many times to just taste all the dishes on the buffet menu, as salads, fruits, starters, and desserts overwhelmed us before we even got to the main dishes. Do try the Dum Biryani and Dessert Platter here, and reserving tables on weekends is advisable.
