Basic cooking blunders and how to fix them: No matter how many cooking blogs we read or food programs we watch, our meals never measure up to what the experts create every day. So while we knew the basics, let's find out what basic cooking blunders home chefs often make. So here we are sharing some advice on producing restaurant-worthy meals and changing our home cooking game.

  1. Roti will remain soft with ginger: Have you forgotten to keep the chapatis in the roti box? In such a situation, the rotis will eventually become stiff quite challenging to chew. If this is the case with you, too, keep pieces of ginger on the bowl, vessel or the roti box in which you are keeping the chapati. This will keep them soft and fresh.
  2. Salty vegetables: Excess salt in the sabzi? Peel a quarter of the potato and put it in the vegetable. This will absorb the extra salt, and you won't have to compromise on the taste. But do not forget to remove the potatoes before serving the sabzi.
  3. Reuse oil: Fried puris last night and left with the residual oil in the pan? To use this oil back, first, keep it on low flame. Then cook the chopped ginger in oil for five minutes. Ginger will eliminate the burnt smell of the oil.
  4. How to freeze ice quickly? Do you need to freeze ice rapidly in summers? Keep hot water in the fridge instead of normal water. You may not be aware of it, but hot water freezes faster than regular water.
  5. How to make crispy pakodas? Add a little cornflour or rice flour to the gram flour for making pakodas. This will make the pakodas crispy and crunchy.
  6. Use bread for burnt rice: Do not throw it away if it gets stuck to the vessel and smells of burning.

  • First of all, separate the top part of the rice with a spoon and put it on a plate.
  • Place three to four pieces of bread on top of the burnt rice at the vessel bottom.
  • Place the dish on top of the rice taken out on the plate. This will remove the smell of burning rice and make the rice edible again.
