Tips To Bake Perfect Cookies, Every time!

Cookies are the most wonderful thing one can ever bake. It feels great when we take out a warm batch of cookies from the oven but this happiness turns into a disappointment shortly after we see the cookies are not how we had thought. Cookie baking is an art. Right from the dough consistency to temperature, there are so many factors that can affect the process. But like always, we have your back! We have some tips with which you can ace the art of baking cookies.

Following The Recipe

The foremost thing that should be paid attention to while baking cookies is following the recipe. It seems obvious but still many people don’t do it properly. Missing even a single step can affect the process. So, before you start with anything, read the recipe properly.

Measuring Properly

The second important step in baking cookies or literally anything is measuring properly. Baking is a lot more precise than other cooking methods, and thus, ingredients should be used in the exact amount mentioned. One should have standard tools like teaspoons, tablespoons, and cups for measuring.

Preheating

Even after doing everything properly right from measuring to mixing to making the dough, what blunder we do is not preheating the mixture. It is essential to wait for the oven to come up to a specific temperature before you start baking.

Wise Substitutions

It happens when we make some changes in the recipe but what needs to be taken care of making the right substitutes. Making random changes in the recipe will not give desirable results.

Refrigeration Is The Key

We often have a hard time holding the dough together. One magical tip to fix it is refrigerating the dough for 25 to 30 minutes. It would hold the dough and make it easier for you to shape the dough and carry out the further steps.

Proper Spacing

When the cookie dough is placed on the baking tray, the cookie dough spreads out. So, it is essential to have a proper space between the cookies. You would not like the cookies sticking to their neighbouring cookies. Would you? A good rule of thumb is to space the cookies so that they will spread about two inches apart unless the recipe states otherwise.
