There’s a saying that goes for Bengali’s is “Maache bhaate bangali” which means Fish and rice make a Bengali and this cant be denied. And next thing that they swear by is sweets. Every meal ends with a bite of it and so if you have have visited the city you would notice that there are sweet shops at every corner and trust you me you wont be compromised for the quality. 

And seeing the love of sweets the city also sees sweet shops which are serving Kolkata for more than 100 Years. Let’s not forget that before the Portuguese brought chena or cottage cheese Bengal savoured sweets that were made of were mainly made from jaggery and coconut something like  "Naru" and "Moya". Their speciality is naram-pak and kora pak Sandesh. A naram-pak remains intact for three days, while those of kara-pak even for a week
