India is the land of spices, food and condiments. We have a variety of condiments like achar, chutney, papad and raita. Without condiments of food and our meal remains empty. We need to have something other than the main course and the gravy to actually relish our food. Also, most of our snacks like samosas and pakoras demand that they are eaten with an amazing chutney on the side. Even with tikkas and kebabs we have a great variety of chutneys that we prefer having with each different dish.

But amidst all of these, our sweet chutneys remain a little underrated. We usually have the very famous dhaniya ki chutney or pudina ki chutney, but there are a variety of sweet chutneys that you are missing out on if you have not tried them yet. Today we will tell you about five amazing sweet chutneys that you must try from across India.

Tomato chutney

The eastern part of India especially West Bengal has a very sweet tomato chutney that is soft with khichuri. It is a part of bhog prasad in Bengali households. not only is this chutney very easy to make but it goes well with a variety of things other than khichuri also. My personal favorite combination is steamed rice, masoor ki dal, aloo posto , fish fry and tomato chutney.

Imli Chutney

Probably the most famous sweet chutney, imli ki chutney is eaten with chaat and dahi vada all across North India. This sweet and sour condiment can add great character to your food as soon as you add it to anything.

Pineapple Chutney

This tropical fruit is as sweet a tweet as you can get. And when it is made into a chutney, then it becomes one of the most authentically sweet condiments that you can get to enjoy your meal with. This light-yellow colored chutney is great to have with roti sabzi or rice dal and any other normal Indian meal.

A dark brown colored slightly sweet, slightly sour and slightly spicy chutney, inji puli is prepared in Kerala as well as some parts of Tamil Nadu. this made with ginger tamarind green chilies and jaggery and everything has its own different flavor that adds to the overall taste of this condiment.
