Tasty And Healthy Breakfast Ideas From Moong Bean Sprouts

We are always asked to have a nutritious and wholesome breakfast as it fuels up the body to survive the whole day and gives us energy. Having a properly packed and nourishing breakfast contributes a lot to the day’s total nutrient intake. There are so many healthy options for breakfast that comes straight to our mind but there is one thing that is so healthy but is slowly being forgotten. Yes, it is nothing but sprouts. Hands down, sprouts are the healthiest and most nutritious breakfast option that we can have. 

Sprouts are a nutritional powerhouse as they come with a high content of nutrients like folate, manganese, phosphorus, protein and so many vitamins. It also helps control the blood sugar level and promotes a healthy heart. Moreover, sprouts have low calories and are thus beneficial for those trying to lose weight. Even though it is healthy, we understand that you cannot have them every day that too in the same form. But don’t worry. We have a list of dishes that you can make from sprouts and have in your breakfast. These just won’t be healthy but tasty as well. So, without any further delay, let us have a look at the list 

Sprout Salad

This is the easiest thing that you can make with moong bean sprouts. It doesn’t take more than 5 minutes but is very beneficial for the health. Let us see how you can make it at home in no time. 

Method 

  • Take sprouted beans and rinse them in water 
  • Then steam it or cook it as per your choice. 
  • When done, strain them in a bowl. 
  • Cut onion, tomato, and green chili and add them to the bowl 
  • Add boiled potato, chaat masala, sea salt, and lemon juice 
  • Mix everything together  
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve 

Sprout Uttapam 

Yes, this famous South Indian dish has a healthy touch. You can pair your sprout uttapam with any chutney you like and get nourished for the rest of the day. See how you can make it. 

Method 

  • First, steam and boil sprouts for 4 to 5 minutes and keep aside. 
  • Take a bowl, add semolina, water, and salt, and mix well to form a batter. 
  • Take another bowl and add veggies along with boiled sprouts.  
  • Take a pan and add little oil. 
  • Now spread a scoop of semolina evenly like a disc and let it cook. 
  • When it is half-done, sprinkle the veggies and sprout mixture 
  • Cook both sides until golden brown 
  • Serve with sambar and chutney 

Sprout Sandwich  

Now, this breakfast option is my favorite. It is not just healthy but light as well. You just make a sandwich with your choice of ingredients and add some moong bean sprouts on the top. It tastes well and is good to go for the morning. 

Method 

  • Take a bread slice and add cream cheese to it. 
  • Add sliced cucumbers and onions. 
  • Sprinkle some salt and add spouts to it.  
  • Take another slice and add mustard or any other sauce you like. 
  • Arrange the bread slices like a sandwich and cut diagonally 
  • Serve
