Shilpa Shetty’s Kanya Pujan Menu Includes Halwa-Puri, Aloo Sabzi

As an ode to goddess Durga during the auspicious Chaitra Navratri period, Shilpa Shetty decided to bring in Ashtami or the eighth day with a Kanya Pujan ceremony at home. The tradition, which involves worshipping a young girl child as the incarnation of the goddess and feeding the children after, had a cute surprise in the form of her daughter, Samisha. The girl who was seated alongside her pet dog had her feet washed by Shilpa, after which an aarti was performed.

This was followed by the actress feeding her a bite of the ladoo. Sharing a glimpse of this on social media through a video captioned, “Celebrating the auspicious occasion of Ashtami today starting with the Kanya Pujan with our own Devi Samisha. May the Supreme Goddess Maha Gauri bless everyone with prosperity, love, and peace.” The video also showcased a mouth-watering festive spread that is traditionally prepared to mark the day – consisting of puris, halwa, aloo sabzi, kala chana and dahi.
