Shamita Shetty Relishes Feast Of Regional Delicacies In Siliguri

Shamita Shetty – much like her sister – is known to be a big foodie. The actress, who is presumably in Siliguri for work, seemed delighted to have the opportunity to sample the rich regional cuisine of Bengal. Dressed down in printed custom pajamas, Shamita appeared seated at a table, looking over what was a large assortment of beautifully plated dishes. Smiling at the camera, she patiently took her audience through the spread that was laid out in front of her.

To start off, she held up a glass of Bengali ghol – a yoghurt-based beverage, followed by the mochhar chop that was served with kasundi. Also on the plate were jhuri aloo bhaja, kosha mangsho, begun bhaja, rice, papad, two additional bowls of what appeared to be some kind of dal and a vegetable gravy dish. To put a sweet ending to the feast, Shamita also held up two bowls of dessert – one with mishti doi and another with khejur gurer rosogulla. She then went on to take a bite of the mochhar chop and exclaimed how ‘absolutely yummy’ it was.

Captioning the adorable video, the actress said, “Exploring Siliguri one delicious bite at a time – because local authenticity is the truest passport to flavor! Compliments to the chef Hasibur, Thank you Ashis Biswa n Sourav for organising this.” Shamita, who famously follows a gluten-free diet, has talked about how her everyday meals include all the components of a balanced meal – without skimping on the carbs. Known to be a big believer of the ‘eat what you want’ way of life and also someone with a big sweet tooth, her other indulgences also include dark chocolates and desserts.
