Treat Your Kids To These Easy, Quirky Snacks

It is essential to provide your growing child with nutrient-packed food, including snacks. They undergo rapid development and growth during their early years, and for that, they need protein, carbs, fats, minerals and vitamins. In addition, good nourishment helps children to excel in athletics and educational goals. However, the sugar content and preservatives in most popular store-bought snacks are way too high. What to do? Try preparing some healthy snacks at home. Here are three nutritious varieties.

Peanut Chaat

Ingredients:

  1. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  2. Coriander leaves - 2 tsp
  3. Chaat masala - 1/2 tsp
  4. Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp
  5. Tomato - 1/2 chopped
  6. Green chutney - 2 tsp
  7. Onion - 1 chopped
  8. Groundnut - 1 cup
  9. Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  10. Salt - as per taste
  11. Boiled potato - 1

Method:

  1. First, boil the peanuts, turmeric, salt and half a cup of water in a cooker, then take them out on a plate
  2. Add salt, chilli powder and chaat masala to the peanuts and mix them well
  3. Now, add green chutney, onion and tomato to this mixture
  4. Add lemon juice and coriander leaves before serving

Bread Cheese Pizza

Ingredients:

  1. Capsicum - 1/2 Chopped
  2. Red chilli sauce - 1/2 tsp
  3. Tomato - 1 chopped
  4. Pizza sauce - 1 tsp
  5. Onion - 1 chopped
  6. Salt - as per taste
  7. Cheese - 1/2 cup
  8. Bread - 6 pieces
  9. Oregano - 1 tsp
  10. Oil - 2 tsp

Method:

  1. Heat oil and fry the bread in a pan until it turns brown
  2. Then, spread cheese, onion, capsicum and tomato on top of it
  3. Now, put a little salt, oregano and red chilli sauce on the bread; heat the oil in a pan and bake the bread for one to two minutes.
  4. After two minutes, take it out on a plate and serve bread cheese pizza with your favourite chutney or sauce.

Cashew Cookies

Ingredients:

  1. Cashews - 100 grams (grated)
  2. All-purpose flour - 150 grams
  3. Custard powder - 20 grams
  4. Baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon
  5. Sugar powder - 20 grams
  6. Vanilla essence - 2 drops
  7. Butter - 100 grams
  8. Milk - 1/4 cup

Method:

  1. First, mix the flour and sugar powder well; then, add milk and mix them well.
  2. After one to two minutes, add coconut, baking soda, cashew, butter, custard powder and prepare the mixture well.
  3. After four to five minutes, add vanilla essence to it and mix again
  4. Now, take out the prepared butter and put the cookies in the baking tray after heating the oven 200 degrees
  5. After baking for about 15-20 minutes, take out the cookies and serve after cooling
