Reliving 5 Foodie Moments From Disney Movies That Touched Our Hearts

Whether you have seen Disney movies once, twice, or a hundred times, could you get away without taking something which you, only you, could relate with? Some of us surely learned something, thanks to food.

1. STATE DINNER, THE PRINCESS DIARIES

Once I accidentally ate such a big spoonful of that fancy fish soup which tasted super bad. I was so pissed. But I wanted to be Ms. fancy pants in front of people, so I swallowed my pain. However, when I saw this state dinner scene, one of the most iconic moments from Princess Diaries, Mia’s reaction to sorbet had me laughing away. She gulps down a bite of sorbet and panics almost immediately because the flavor is just too intense. I remembered just how much I hated my fish soup. But I felt that Mia had shown quite the courage to show her dislike, unlike me!

2.  GRAVY TRAIN, CAROLINE

I just love how the gravy train scene pops up in the movie ‘Caroline’. It is a metaphor for Caroline’s journey. She’s riding the gravy train, which means she gets everything she wants, without making a lot of effort. Watch the scene; we don’t want to give away any spoilers. However, we can tell you that the scene has a special significance. In life, we must be careful about not taking shortcuts, or there’s a price to pay.

3. EAT ME CAKES, ALICE IN WONDERLAND

The phrase “eat me” reminds us of the hypnotic power of the food industry, which has marketed junk foods to the extent that whoever looks at them cannot help but pick them up. Moreover, the beautiful calligraphy on the cake with black currants shows our tendency to choose foods that look good. Uncanny but deep, isn't it?

4. FAMILY DINNER, BRAVE

In Brave, the family dinner is hailed as being one of the best moments among all of the Disney movies. It is no wonder that Brave won an Academy Award for being the best-animated film. There is plenty of focus on tradition such as eating turkey legs, Scottish rolls, and empire biscuits, which is such a refreshing change from the dinner table scenes which are themed around discipline in other Disney films. In Brave, it is quite interesting to see that eating is joy, not a silent punishment.

5. BRUCE IS ON A DIET, FINDING NEMO

Remember the scene where Bruce the shark tells Dory and Marlin that he is on a vegetarian diet, and that is why he will not kill any fishes? Well, later, his effort to stay 'vegetarian' goes down the drain when he smells blood. This is absolutely relatable. Think of all those days on which we succumbed to foods that we promised we wouldn't eat. I giggled away to glory after Bruce lost the will! He was clearly a foodie!

We hope that Disney keeps enthralling us with such thoughtfully curated scenes. We cannot wait for the foodie moments which will come next out of the movie studio!
