Rose Day 2022: This rich and creamy rose flavoured Indian dessert is a must-try.
Rose Flavoured Indian Rice Pudding: How many times have you thought rice is a blessing? We use it for rituals on festivals, various wedding traditions and special occasions, but we can also prepare a quick khichdi or pulao when hunger pangs are drumming! Of course, we are familiar with basmati or patna and brown rice in India, but it's also available as Italian and glutinous rice, popular in Chinese and Japanese cuisines. Indian cuisine, however, is packed with several rice delicacies that are irresistible!
Here is the famous recipe of rice kheer flavoured with rose syrup, enriched with cream and garnished with rose petals.
Step 1: Take rice in a pot and add milk. Now cook till the rice is soft. Add green cardamom powder and sugar; now cook till it turns thick and keep it aside to cool.
Step 2: Into a deep bowl, transfer the rice pudding (kheer). Fold in most of the rose petals and half a cup of whipped cream. Now mix while adding two tablespoons of rose syrup.
Step 3: Put the kheer for chilling in stemmed glasses. The remaining whipped cream can be put on the kheer in pipe rosettes and a piping bag in each glass.
Step 4: Spray a little rose syrup above it, put a rose petal on top and serve it chilled.
