It is no secret that we feel better all day if we start off by eating healthy and while we kill the piling work load today, we make sure that our Tuesday is not miserable since we have a comforting bowl of Cinnamon Peach Oats. We’ve got 99 problems and all of them involve carbs but on Tuesdays, we look forward to tick nutrition with Cinnamon Peach Oats.

When Alice Walker said, “Life is better than death, I believe, if only because it is less boring, and because it has fresh peaches in it”, we related hard. On that note, check out the recipe of Cinnamon Peach Oats below and peach, don’t kill our breakfast vibe!

Ingredients:

1 ripe peach, cubed or sliced however you like

1-2 tsp maple syrup

1/2 cup rolled oats or quick oats (I used @onedegreeorganics quick oats for this)

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1/2 a banana, sliced into coins

1/2 tsp cinnamon plus more as desired

Pinch of salt

Method:

In a small sauté pan add your sliced peaches and maple syrup and allow to cook and soften with a pinch of cinnamon. Reserve half the sautéed peaches to the side for topping and to the remaining peaches in the pan add the remaining ingredients.

Stir and bring to a simmer and cook to thicken, about 3-5 minutes. Adjust the salt and spices to your preference and pour into a bowl and top with the remaining sautéed peaches overtop. I also topped this bowl with blueberries, pepitas and some peanut butter.

Benefits:

Peaches are packed with nutrients and antioxidants and aid digestion. They are easy to add to the diet given they are widely available and help reduce allergy symptoms, protect the body’s skin, improves heart health and even prevents certain types of cancer.

Maple syrup extract may dramatically increase the potency of antibiotics according to researchers at McGill University in Canada. Another study claims that consuming pure maple syrup extract may help protect against Alzheimer’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative disorder affecting motor neurons and maintain neuronal integrity during aging.

Oats don't contain any gluten instead, have more protein and fiber than regular flour. Apart from being rich in antioxidants and being incredibly nutritious, oats can improve blood sugar control, can lower cholesterol levels and protects LDL Cholesterol from damage.

Its soluble fiber beta-glucan aids in digestion, keeps the stomach satiated, keeps hunger pangs at bay while keeping one full. Hence, they are suitable for weight loss.

Bananas, whether mashed or otherwise, help lower the level of stress as they are rich in potassium which is an essential mineral needed to regulate water balance, acidity level and blood pressure. They not only improve digestive health and aid in weight loss but also support heart health, improve insulin sensitivity and contain powerful antioxidants.
