Ramadan 2022: Fasting or not, you got to try these yummy dark chocolate dates

The holy month of Ramadan is almost here. It is the time to feel gratitude for just being able to enjoy the wonderful life, food, and relationships that make us. To enjoy the little things in life is necessary for your emotional and mental well-being too. However, a lot of well-being starts from the tummy, and keeping it happy and healthy is necessary as well!

People who fast during the month of Ramadan wait for the Iftar time which is a meal that is served to break the fast. And to do it, the healthier way, people break it by eating a date first. Dates contain a high amount of B-complex vitamins, which are critical for certain bodily functions, like transforming the food we eat into energy. Therefore, it makes it a perfect food to break the fast with.

To make the most of this beautiful month, celebrity nutritionist Pooja Makhija shared her own chocolate-dipped date recipe. The recipe she shared in a video on her Instagram looks yummy and so healthy with a gooey center filled with peanut butter!

Calling it a perfect way to break your fast, she captioned her video, “With the holy month of Ramadan coming soon, this nut butter rich date can be our healthy iftar!”

It’s simple and fun to make and will be the perfect addition to your ‘Iftar Dastarkhwan’. This beautiful dish will not only make for a yummy beginning for Iftar but it is a guilt-free indulgence too.

Here’s the chocolate-dipped date recipe for Ramadan:

Ingredients

Big dates (Medjool or Omani)
Peanut butter
Crushed peanut bits
Dark chocolate

Preparation

  1. Slit the dates to deseed them.
  2. Fill the peanut butter into a bag and pipe them inside the dates.
  3. Sprinkle some crushed peanuts on top.
  4. Melt a bar of dark chocolate.
  5. Lightly dip the dates into the chocolate.
  6. Sprinkle more peanut bits on top.
  7. Freeze overnight and enjoy it at iftar time.
