These hawker centres are spread throughout the region and usually feature dozens of stalls in a single complex, with each stall offering its specialty dishes.
Some well-known Singaporean hawker dishes include kaya toast, chilli crab, fish head curry, laksa, roti prata and Hainanese chicken rice, which is widely considered to be one of Singapore's national dishes.
