Thanksgiving, a National holiday in the United States of America celebrates the new harvest and is a form of giving thanks. Reuniting with family and food is the most vital part of this holiday. The Thanksgiving Dinner is a traditional feast enjoyed by Americans which contains ingredients native to their land.
The ingredients always present in the Thanksgiving feast are potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cranberries and Turkey. Turkey is the main attraction of the dinner with several other side dishes which may vary from household to household. But the most common side dishes are mashed potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. Desserts are a big part of Thanksgiving, people serve a bunch of different pies such as pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie, mince pie, cherry pie, and chocolate cream pie at the end of the massive meal.
For beverages, apple cider and wine are most commonly served and sometimes even eggnog, best known as the Christmas drink.
