Getting children to eat a balanced meal can feel like negotiating a peace treaty after an arduous battle. One day, they may love paneer and the next day refuse to even look at it. Vegetables often mysteriously disappear from their plates and are found in the dustbin. However, snacks vanish in record time and are firmly relocated to their tummy. Amidst these ever-changing food preferences, one thing remains constant — your worry for them and their diet. Eating a balanced diet as a child is highly essential. While the dietary needs of kids vary from one another, based on lifestyle and health, protein remains an essential, non-negotiable component of their lives.
It plays a vital role in the growth and development of children. Protein supports healthy muscles, strengthens bones, helps repair tissues, and contributes to the production of enzymes and hormones that keep the body functioning efficiently. More importantly, protein-rich meals keep children fuller for longer, reducing the temptation to reach for sugary snacks between meals. And this is very important in the 21st century, with processed yet attractively beckoning treats everywhere.
The good news is that adding more protein to your kid’s diet does not necessarily involve elaborate meal plans or expensive ingredients. With a little creativity, daily household staples can also be transformed into dishes that are both nutritious and genuinely enjoyable. Here are some delicious and easy recipes that make protein the star of your child’s plate.
