It get’s its name from the history of the Wiesn where the first Oktoberfest in 1810 was the wedding of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese of Sachsen-Hildburghausen.

As more and more of people are getting aware of this traditional festival the popularity of this festival is rapidly increasing.
