Nargis Fakhri’s Greek Breakfast Is Full Of Health Goals

Nargis Fakhri is currently in Greece and is having the time of her life, enjoying the Greek cuisine and culture with her friends. Posting a ton of photos from her trip on social media, Nargis - who had made her debut in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar - is setting holiday goals for the rest of us. Enjoying the clear and sunny skies of Athens, the actress is unwinding by eating her favourite Greek dishes and posing for eu natural photos.  

Nargis loves to cook and that’s amply evident by her social media posts. She has previously tried her hands at making Baingan Ka Bharta. Nargis has time and again shared photos of her cooking escapades to her social media handles, like the time she made pasta while holidaying in Italy. The actress enjoys Italian delicacies like Gnocchi with Pesto. Nargis, however, is more of a mindful eater and enjoys making her meals vegan and protein rich.

Sharing an uber healthy breakfast click from her trip in Greece, Nargis recently enjoyed some brown bread, boiled eggs, cherry tomatoes and asparagus sticks in the first meal of the day. Captioning it as #healthylifestyle, the actress shared the click from Athens.

The Greek delicacies that Nargis seems to be enjoying have numerous health benefits. Greek cuisine shares the same palate as that of other Mediterranean cuisines and olive oil, wheat and wine are some of its popular ingredients. The delectable dips of Greek cuisine have become popular all over the globe. From Tzatziki to Fava, Greek dips are the favourite accompaniment of many and are often paired with various other meat and flour dishes. Greek cuisine is extremely healthy and balanced and features more of white meat, nuts, olive oil, herbs, vegetables and fruits that are rich in antioxidants and have lesser mono-saturated fats.

Greek Roll by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor 

Ingredients: 

  1. 4 tortillas 
  2. 1 cup of yoghurt  
  3. 2 medium onions cut circularly 
  4. 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped coriander leaves
  5. Salt
  6. 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped mint leaves
  7. 8 crushed black peppercorns
  8. 1 tablespoon of lemon juice  
  9. 2 medium cucumbers sliced  
  10. 2 medium tomatoes sliced  
  11. 8 sliced green olives
  12. 1 chopped jalapeno

Method: 

  1. In a heated pan, sauté the cut onion until they turn golden brown. 
  2. Add salt as per your taste. 
  3. Pour some hung yoghurt in a bowl and add coriander leaves and mint leaves along with salt, crushed black peppercorns and lemon juice and mix it well. 
  4. Take a chapati and put the onions in the middle. 
  5. Put the hung yoghurt mixture over the onions and fold it into a roll.
