Chaat holds a special place in the hearts of most Indians and bhel puri is one type of chaat that can be found in almost all Indian cities. It is believed that the humble bhel originated in Mumbai’s street food stalls and Gujarati cafes, from where it spread to the rest of the country. Ingredients used in bhel include puffed rice, sev, potatoes, onions and chutneys, and are mostly consistent but can also depend on regional and seasonal availability. Different cities have different versions of the snack. For instance: Kolkata has jhaal muri and Bangalore has churmuri.

Recently, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Kapoor was seen enjoying a small bowl of bhel puri at tea time. Mira posted a photo of her bhel with the sea and sunset in the background and captioned it “just me and my bhel”.

Although she didn’t reveal where she had it, we could see a beach in the background. It seems like Mira was out and about because a recent post showed her standing in Kala Ghoda. She captioned the post:

“‘Went to town’ #DelhiGirlInMumbai

Kala Ghoda reminds me so much of Khan Market in Delhi; winding streets, quirky boutiques, some over-hyped eateries and parking attendants waiting to give you the receipt before you’ve even left.

It’s a trek for me, but going to town reminds me so much of Delhi ❤️ for me it’s Dilli meri jaan.”

Mira often takes to Instagram to post what she’s eating and drinking. In the past, there have been photos of cake, her mother’s masala bread, paneer and lacchha paratha and even schezwan cheese dosa. While Mira was in the UAE, she also shared a picture of the Lebanese food that she got to eat there.

It’s clear that Mira is a foodie. Besides posting about fashion and beauty, she regularly posts about her food and drinks. Her 3.3 million followers know and love this about her. We look forward to seeing more of Mira’s culinary adventures and everyday meals.
