As soon as summer started, I could see many people on my social media posting about new and refreshing chilled drinks. From juices, smoothies to iced teas and coffees, this season is all about keeping ourselves hydrated and nourished. And when there are plenty of delicious drinks to consume and beat the searing heat, why stick to the same drink all through the season? After all, there is nothing better than guzzling down an icy cold beverage in the sweltering heat! And it seems like even our favourite celebrities think the same too, and cannot help but enjoy some wonderful drinks to stay cool this summer.
Mira Kapoor, for instance, was recently caught enjoying a delicious summer drink that not just looked super delicious, but was also healthy. Mira was seen sipping on a decadent-looking, chilled frappuccino. And guess what? It was completely vegan! Yes, you read that right. Contrary to what many think, vegan drinks can be super wholesome, healthy and delicious too. The homemade drink that Mira was enjoying was made with plant-based oat milk and seemed just the perfect choice for the scorching summer months. Take a look and see for yourself:
Oat milk is one of the most popular vegan alternatives for milk, that is said to be great for people who are lactose intolerant, vegan or just watching their weight. It is nothing but the liquid form of oats that a health enthusiast may prefer for breakfast, and so is considered super healthy. Mira is one celebrity who is extremely health-conscious but balances it all with occasional binges. She never shies away from sharing it all on Instagram. And this time, it was no different. Sharing a click of her delicious-looking iced coffee, she explained what went into its making and how it was completely vegan. "I avoid icy drinks but this homemade oat milk frappucino is bomb," she wrote in the caption of her post. For the unversed, frappuccino is simply a chilled and frothy version of the hot cappuccino that is perfect to cool you off.
Mira has often shared how she steers clear of chilled or raw food, as she believes that this kind of food is harmful for the digestive system and doles out a lot of energy in bringing it up to body temperature and then digesting it. But this time around, Mira made an exception for this homemade vegan drink.
Mira often shares her foodie indulgences with her Instagram family of more than 3 million. Recently, she revealed all about her tryst with the Intermittent Fasting (IF) diet and how "It just doesn't sit well” with her.
