A refreshing mango smoothie is the perfect treat on a hot summer day. This smoothie is made by blending fresh, ripe mangoes, bananas, oranges, yoghurt, and a drizzle of honey for extra sweetness. The mangoes impart a tropical flavour and sweetness, while the bananas add creaminess. The oranges provide a bright citrus note to balance out the sweetness. Plain yoghurt is ideal for its protein and probiotics, but any milk or dairy substitute will work too.

Pick The Perfect Riped Mangoes

Mangoes are a nutritious fruit that can be incorporated into your daily diet. Available year-round, mangoes contain over 20 vitamins and minerals and are high in fiber while being low in sodium and cholesterol. Look for ripeness by gently squeezing; ripe mangoes should have a soft texture like a peach.

Allow unripe mangoes to ripen at room temperature or speed the process in a paper bag. Once ripe, refrigerate or use right away. Mangoes can be purchased pre-sliced for convenience. You can also freeze slices or pulp for later use in smoothies, chutneys, desserts and more. With their great nutritional profile and versatility, mangoes are a simple way to add nutrition to your diet.
