World records that are related to food always draw more interest of people, than all other records. This is because, at the core of everyone, lives - a foodie. Just a few weeks ago we shared the story of a man named Gregory Foster, from the US, who was awarded the Guinness Book of World Record’s title for being the first man in the world to have consumed 3 of the hottest peppers in the world (Carolina Reaper) in less than 9 seconds. The post that featured this man went viral and piqued everybody’s interest. The video of the man eating the peppers was shared on various social media platforms. Here’s a video of Gregory eating the Carolina Reaper chillis:

Another mind-blowing world record that everyone seems to be talking about online is the record set by a man from US, by the name of Ron Jones. Ron made it to the Guinness Book of World Records for executing the highest dunk of a doughnut. He achieved the feat by bungee jumping, covering a height of 60.553 meters (198 ft 8 in). If this world record is seeming weird to you, you would be surprised to know that this was not the first time that such a record was made. Earlier a doughnut was dunked into a coffee mug measuring just 8.89 cm (3.5 in) in diameter on the US TV show Guinness World Records Unleashed in the year 2013.

In the video above, you can see Ron getting ready to jump, initially. After he jumps he tries to steady his flight and eventually he reaches near the cup, steadies himself and then dips the donut in to the mug, almost tipping it over. He is soon pulled back by momentum in to the air and people can be seen cheering him on. The current record for highest bungee jump stands at 73.41 m (240 ft 10 in) which was created by Simon Berry (UK) who had dunked a biscuit into a cup of tea in the year 2016, GWR mentioned in its own post.

People’s reaction to this world record has been amusing. While some social media users have asked why such records need to be created, others have joked that Dunkin Donuts should be the official sponsor of Ron. While social media remains divided on drastic stunts done to break the world record, one thing is for certain and that is that the post’s virality suggests that people are hooked to such content.
