Cinnamon cookies are sweetened with sugar and warmed with cinnamon. Consider rolling the cookies in cinnamon sugar, adding cinnamon chips to the dough, or creating a cinnamon glaze to replicate the flavours of a cinnamon roll. Cinnamon cookies, often known as cinnamon sugar cookies, are cinnamon-flavoured flour-based snacks. Begin by making a batch of sugar cookies, cream cheese cookies, or butter cookies. To make cinnamon cookies, add cinnamon to the dough or roll the dough balls in a cinnamon-sugar mixture. Cinnamon cookies, like chocolate chip cookies, can be soft and chewy or thin and crispy, depending on the ingredients in the cookie dough, such as sugar and leavening agents. Cinnamon's astringent and warming effect balances the sweetness in the cookie without increasing the baking time.

Ingredients

 1 cup sugar

 1⁄2 cup butter

 1 large egg

 1 teaspoon vanilla

 1 1⁄2 cups flour

 1 1⁄2  teaspoons cinnamon

 1 teaspoon baking powder

 1⁄4 teaspoon salt

 Cinnamon sugar

Method

Cream the butter, sugar, and egg in a mixing bowl before adding the vanilla.

Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

 Stir into the butter mixture.

 Mix well.

Cover and let it chill for two hours, or until the mixture is stiff enough to form into balls.

Make the dough into little balls with a diameter of about 3/4 inch.

To coat, roll in cinnamon sugar.

On cookie sheets that have been lightly oiled, space cookies 1 inch apart.

Bake for 10 minutes at 350° or until the edges are just beginning to brown.

Cool a little on the pans before removing them to racks to finish cooling.
