Love Jaggery? How About This Gud Ka Halwa

Indian dish made with lots of almonds, jaggery, and semolina. This halwa is ideal for preventing cold and cough symptoms. Halwa is a traditional Indian dessert that is made in homes for practically all holidays and special occasions since no one can ever resist it. Making gud ka halwa for a dinner party in the winter is a terrific idea.

  1. 2 1/2 Tbsp ghee
  2. 1 cup semolina, soaked
  3. 50 gms gud (soaked in 1 cup water)
  4. 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  5. A pinch of saffron
  6. 50 gms pistachio, sliced
  7. 50 gms almonds, sliced
  8. 4 tbsp shakkar / brown sugar

gud ka halwa/

  1. Semolina should be soaked for 20 minutes.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed container with hot ghee, add the semolina and toast it until it turns golden.
  3. As soon as the halwa reaches the proper consistency, add the jaggery water, cardamom powder, saffron, green pista, almonds, and brown sugar. 
  4. Stir continuously.
  5. Serve warm.
