Khushi Gujar's 2 Hot Chocolate Recipes To Relish This Winter

Everyone craves warm and comforting food during the winter. From soups to gajar ka halwa, Indians have a lot of options to indulge in this season. In terms of beverages, chai, coffee, kadha, haldi doodh, and kahwa are some popular delights of the chilly winter. Packed with warm flavours, these drinks contribute to warding off seasonal sickness.  

Hot chocolate is another renowned drink of this season. Made with chocolate (or cocoa powder), milk, and sugar, this rich and creamy delight has the potential to keep your body warm even on the chilliest day of the year. Served with whipped cream or marshmallows, they are a staple on the winter menus of restaurants.

Nutella Hot Chocolate 


Ingredients 

  • 80 g chocolate ganache 
  • cocoa powder 
  • 180 ml of milk  
  • 20 g Nutella  

Garnish 

  • Cocoa powder 
  • Nutella on top 

Method 

  • Begin the process by combining the chocolate ganache, cocoa powder, and creamy milk in a saucepan over low heat. 
  • Stir this luxurious trio gently until they harmonise into a silky, smooth ensemble. Let the mixture simmer, allowing the flavours to meld together perfectly. 
  • Elevate the richness by adding a tablespoon of Nutella to the awaiting cup, enhancing the depth and allure of the concoction. 
  • After pouring the hot chocolate into your cup, add a sprinkle of cocoa powder and a swirl of Nutella on top. Enjoy your treat! 

Espresso Hot Chocolate 


Ingredients 

  • 100 g chocolate ganache  
  • 180 ml of milk  
  • 20 ml espresso shot 

Garnish 

  • Roasted coffee beans 

Method 

  • Set the stage by blending ganache and milk in a saucepan, creating a luxurious base. 
  • Let this delightful duo cook until it reaches a smooth, creamy thickness, building anticipation with each stir. 
  • Prepare for a showstopper as you pull out a fresh espresso shot, adding a bold twist to the ensemble. 
  • Pour the hot chocolate into your cup, inviting richness, and then make it pop by gracefully drizzling the espresso from above. Garnish it with 2–3 coffee beans and embrace the deliciousness of this treat in its entirety.
