We all love the rainy season, as it gives us relief from the unbearable summer heat and brings a lot of seasonal delights. But the changing weather conditions also increase the risk of various health problems like a weak digestive system, a cold or cough, and declining immunity levels. Seasonal illness can be caused by various factors, such as infected vegetables, unhygienic street foods, and contaminated water.

Therefore, it is important to stay safe during the monsoon and also focus on boosting our immune system. There are many nutritious foods available in this season that can provide you with all the essential nutrients required for enhancing immunity, like citrus fruits, vegetables, yoghurt, and nuts. But there is a timeless Ayurvedic remedy called kadha that helps fight infections and strengthen immunity. Made with various herbs and spices, this inexpensive home remedy for monsoon sickness has been around in our country for ages.

Here are four benefits of including kadha in your monsoon diet:

Boosts Immunity

According to PharmEasy, kadha is high in antioxidants and vitamins that reduce internal infections by destroying free radicals, which in turn boost our immune system. The nutrients present in the ingredients of this Ayurvedic drink help protect our body against common ailments like the cold, flu, and cough.

Supports Digestion

As we all know, during the monsoon, our stomachs are more susceptible to infections and diseases like bloating and diarrhoea. This is because of the bacteria that enter our body from infected food and water. Drinking kadha can help detoxify our bodies and promote healthy digestion. It also improves metabolism, eliminates toxins, and reduces bloating.

Relieves Respiratory Problems

Along with stomach infections, the monsoon also brings respiratory problems like congestion, sore throats, and coughs. Adding kadha to your daily diet during the monsoon can help alleviate all these issues. Include ingredients like ginger, tulsi, and black pepper in your kadha to get rid of these respiratory problems.

Anti-Inflammatory And Anti-Viral Properties

Kadha is a homemade drink that is made with various healthy ingredients like ginger, mint, tulsi, and turmeric, which are known to have numerous health benefits along with anti-viral, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties. This helps ease the symptoms of a cold, cough, and sore throat.
