When South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes is not busy soaking up the sun in his new home in Goa, he is busy travelling across the country and relishing the diversity in culture. While his love for India has been well-known, he expressed his gratitude to his airport pick-up on a recent visit to Bengaluru, who suggested that he stop for a quick bite at a local eatery, before they could brave the infamous traffic. Rhodes, who jumped at the suggestion and embraced this spontaneous plan, took to social media to gush about the classic South Indian breakfast that he enjoyed at Bhagini Veg Restaurant located in Hunasamaranahalli.
Relishing a delicious portion of deep-fried Mangalore buns, Mysore masala dosa and washing it down with a steaming cup of masala chai, he was all praises for the meal that he described as ‘excellent’ in his social media post. Dressed in a printed shirt, jeans and spectacles, the cricket coach and commentator also posed with a few staff members of the restaurant for a picture. He also appreciated the service and referred to the serving staff as an ‘awesome crew’, while his driver sat across from him at a table, in another.
