  • 250g Ivy gourd
  • 1/4 Cup grated Coconut
  • 1/2 Cup Onion chopped
  • 4 Green Chilli cut lengthwise
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp Coconut oil
  • Salt according to your prefered taste 
  • Curry leaves


  • First of all, you will have to wash the ivy gourd and chop it into small pieces
  • Now mix together grated coconut, chilli and turmeric powder in a bowl or container and keep aside
  • The next thing you have to do is heat the oil in a pan and pop the mustard seeds in it
  • Now saute the onion until it turns golden brown, add curry leaves and saute for a few seconds
  • Now add the coconut mix and chopped ivy gourd kept in the bowl into the pan
  • Add salt according to your prefered taste, mix it well and cook with a lid on a low flame while stirring occasionally
  • After 15 minutes, the vegetable will be cooked and becomes a bit crunchy 
  • Now remove the lid and stir-fry for another 1 minute on medium to high flame
  • At last, remove the pan from the heat and keep it aside
