Immunity Booster Laddoo? See What Chef Pankaj Has Stored

It is that time of the year when we avoid drinking cold water, ice-creams and milkshakes and adopt some ‘winter foods’ and why not, these foods have always kept as warm and cozy. When I talk about my family, we have a set of laddoos for each problem. Not just me but almost every other Indian knows that there are some winter special laddoos that come for rescue every time.

 Laddoos are actually much more than just a mere dessert as when made with some typical ingredients, they can do wonders for the body. From methi to gond, there are some laddoos that can work like magic for our body. It can even beat some medicines, but moderation is important.  

Recently, our star chef Pankaj Bhadouria took to Instagram and shared the recipe of a winter special Immunity booster laddoo. She wrote “Immunity Booster Laddu: This winter season, fight off sickness with these Immunity Booster Laddus”. This recipe was so amazing that we couldn’t stop ourselves from sharing it with you. So, make these immunity booster laddoos at home and battle the seasonal infections like a pro! Are you ready?? 

Ingredients 

  • ¼ cup + 2 tbsp desi ghee 
  • ½ cup gond 
  • 1 cup wheat flour 
  • 25 gm dry ginger powder 
  • 1 tsp turmeric 
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder 
  • 25 gm mulethi powder 
  • 1 cup grated jaggery 
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds (toasted) 

Method 

  • Heat a kadhai and add ghee to it. 
  • Add gond and fry it until puffed. 
  • Drain the fried gond and put into a blender. 
  • Grind the gond into a smooth paste. 
  • Now, add wheat flour to the remaining ghee in the pan and roast it. 
  • Roast the flour until it becomes golden and aromatic. 
  • Heat another pan and add 2 tbsp ghee. 
  • Add dry ginger powder to it and roast well. 
  • Then, add turmeric and black pepper powder to it. 
  • Mix well and take out the mixture from the pan. 
  • Add mulethi powder, toasted sesame seeds and grated jaggery to the mixture. 
  • Also add gond paste and combine everything together. 
  • Make laddoos from the mixture and store.
