When Anupam Kher’s South Indian Breakfast Made Us Drool

While Mondays usually begin with a monotonous tone and the so-called Monday blues, for actor Anupam Kher, the opposite was true. The talented veteran actor of the industry hails from a theatre background and has chaired the Film And Television Institute Of India for several years too. His immense knowledge of cinema and experience of working in over 500 films makes him one of the few stalwarts of the Hindi film industry. Married to actor turned politician, Kirron Kher, the Indian actor is well-known for his spokesman ship and oratory skills. He has been a strong voice in expressing opinions about incidents happening in the country. However, one thing that not many may know about the great actor is his love for food. 

A die-hard foodie who has forgotten his Kashmiri roots, was spotted devouring a traditional Kashmiri feast with his family in his brother’s house. The brother duo got together after a long time and spent quality time with each other over good food. The 67-year old actor’s excitement upon seeing all the Kashmiri delicacies on the table was unmatched. There was rogan josh, dum aloo, paneer and what not on the menu prepared by his sister-in-law. The total foodie that he is, The Kashmir Files actor gave us a glimpse of his breakfast last morning and it looked absolutely delish. He was seen breaking bread with his friend @ashokepandit on his Instagram stories. At a simple South Indian restaurant, the two were seen gorging on a table full of idlis, masala dosa, sambhar and coconut chutney. 

During the video, he flipped the camera to his face and told us how Indian food has spoilt us. He turned to his friend who also nodded in approval, suggesting that all these South Indian delicacies were a blissful breakfast. Do you also want to take a look? Here you go.

This is the South Indian version of pancakes which are savoury. The batter is the same as dosa but once the batter is poured on the tawa, chopped veggies like tomatoes, onions and green chillies are also added to it.
