A normal blood pressure range is 120/80 mmHg, a range above 140/90 is considered hypertension, but if the levels are consistently high, one must consult a doctor. High stress and an unhealthy lifestyle may be some of the reasons for high blood pressure. This is a major concern as it can lead to other severe diseases like heart attack, stroke or kidney failure. Chia seeds is an ingredient that is enriched with multiple health benefits, including management of blood pressure levels. Loaded with fibre, protein, and various other macronutrients, chia seeds help prevent the storage of undesirable fats that can cause heart disease and stroke. It is also brimming with omega-3 fatty acids which have been proven to work like a blood thinner reduce the pressure. Due to this, those on medication or blood thinners should avoid consuming chia seeds without consulting a doctor.  

While one can consume chia seeds in many forms- salads, soups, shakes, etc., chia seed water has been touted as one of the most effective and authentic ways to opt. Not only is it simple, easy and quick to prepare but also super refreshing!

Here’s how you can make chia seeds water-  

Ingredients:  

Chia seeds- ½ tbsp  

Lemon- ½  

Water- 1 cup

Method:  

1. Soak chia seeds in water for about 15 minutes.  

2. Stir well and add lemon to it.  

3. Mix well and have early in the morning for effective results.  

4. You can also add honey for flavouring.   

The abundance of vitamin C and other nutrients in lemon adds up to the benefits of this healthy drink.
