Did you know that you can also cook a yummy bowl of pasta in your microwave? Well, if you are a fan of the Italian dish, we’ve got you covered with how to go about it in the microwave in the most efficient way.

Cooking pasta in the microwave is not only a hassle-free method, but it is also a quick method that requires few ingredients and eliminates kitchen clutter. The time is actually dependent on what your pasta packet says. Take the time on the pasta packet and add 3 minutes to the cooking time. You really don’t need any more than two ingredients to cook pasta in the kitchen—just the pasta and water, besides any spices or herbs you may want to add to your bowl.

Here's how you can cook pasta using a microwave oven:

Ingredients:

  • 100g pasta
  • 300ml water
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • Add dry pasta to a deep microwaveable bowl, and pour water to cover the pasta completely.
  • Place the bowl in the microwave and cook on full power for the amount stated on the pasta packet plus 3 minutes.
  • If you are cooking more than one serving at a time, stir the pasta halfway through to make sure it doesn’t stick together.
  • Once done, check if the pasta is cooked through. If necessary, cook for a little longer. Keep checking every minute.
  • Now drain the water away with a colander.
  • Serve with your favourite pasta sauce.
