Get Christmas Ready By This No-Egg Oven Banana Bread

December is already here and Christmas is just a few days away. It’s that time of the year when we enjoy some delicious desserts. When we talk of desserts, we just can’t miss talking about cakes and bread. Banana bread is something we can’t say no to. But in most of the recipes, we have seen egg as an essential ingredient. Can’t we make banana bread without egg? We definitely can and star chef Kunal Kapur has proved this. 

Chef Kunal recently took to Instagram and shared the recipe of a yummy no-egg oven banana bread. He wrote ‘This banana bread recipe is one of those bread recipes you will find reasons to make every time you see some ripe bananas on your kitchen shelf. Yes, you read that right! Enjoy baking this bread this Christmas season. So, are you ready for the recipe? Have a look! 

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients 

  • 5 bananas 
  • ¾ cup + 2tbsp sugar 
  • ¾ cup curd 
  • ¼ cup oil/melted butter 
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract 

Dry Ingredients 

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour 
  • ½ tsp baking powder 
  • ½ tsp baking soda 
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder 
  • Handful of crushed walnuts 

Method 

  • Take bananas and peel them.  
  • Take a blender and add bananas. Also, add curd, melted butter, and vanilla extract. 
  • Give it a good mix. Keep it aside. 
  • Take a bowl and add all-purpose flour. 
  • Add baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon powder. Add crushed walnuts. 
  • Add the banana mixture and mix well. 
  • Take a bread mould and line parchment paper on it. 
  • Pour the bread batter and set it evenly. Don’t fill till the top. 
  • Add walnut bread and banana slices.  
  • Bake for 45 to 50 minutes. 
  • Do the toothpick test and see if the toothpick comes out. 
  • When done, take it out and let it cool. 
  • Cut into slices and serve!
