After a long spree of working in India and returning after a break, the celebrity chef enjoyed a dinner at chef Niyati Rao’s ingredient-first restaurant in Mumbai, among other things like catching a cricket match.
When in Mumbai, live it up like Gary Mehigan! The celebrity chef who returned to India after a short break where he paid a visit home, raved about a meal he enjoyed at Chef Niyati Rao’s cuisine-agnostic, ingredient-first restaurant in Fort – Ekaa. The former Masterchef Australia judge was all praises for the tasting menu curated by Rao, which included dishes like liver toast, house pork sausage, fried chicken, fermented cauliflower, coconut bebinca and wild cashew ice cream.
Gary posted a slew of images from the meal, as well as a sweet picture of himself posing with the team of chefs at the restaurant. He captioned the post, “I’ve had so much good food lately I don’t know where to start but first meal back in India was outstanding…Special thanks to Niyati Rao and the team @ekaamumbai for being such a genuinely happy and crack squad of professionals…loved it and next visit I’m going again.”
Among other things that Mehigan did on his return to Mumbai, he was also spotted savouring a Japanese meal of fried bread, tartare, grilled mushrooms and a matcha tiramisu at Bandra’s Mizu Izukaya restaurant. He was also seen posing with a smile for photographs with the restaurant staff, as well as a group of friends who seemed to have caught the cricket fever. The chef and TV anchor was impressed by the creativity and sheer talent of the young chefs, praising them on his social media. Tell us what your favourite restaurant in your city is!
