Ingredients

  • 1 carrot
  • 1/2 cup moong dal
  • 1/2 rice
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon hing
  • 1/2 teaspoon jeera
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • Water

Method

  • In a pressure cooker, add dal, rice, and grated gajar or carrots.
  • Saute for a while, then add salt and haldi. Add some water and pressure-cook it for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • In another pan, prepare a tadka of ghee and temper hing, jeera, and red chilli in them.
  • Add this tadka to the khichdi and mix well.
