Ingredients

  • 1 cup pista
  • ½ cup walnuts
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Few strands of saffron
  • ½ green cardamom powder
  • 1 lemon juice
  • 1 cup ghee
  • Spring roll sheets as they are easily available online

Method

  • Coarsly grind pista and walnuts.
  • For sugar syrup, take a pan and heat water.
  • Add sugar, few strands of saffron, and green cardamom powder. the 
  • When syrup reaches 1 string consistency add juice of lemon juice.
  • For layering baklava, you can use spring roll sheets 
  • In a baking dish, lay sheets and sprinkle ground nuts over them. 
  • Repeat this process 4 times. Then cut the pieces into the desired portions. 
  • Pour ghee over the baklava layers.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C for 45 minutes or till golden.
  • Pour hot sugar syrup over baklava and enjoy.
