Farah Khan’s Iftar Feast Includes Mutton Samosa, Malpua And More

During the holy month of Ramadan, the Bhendi Bazar and Mohammed Ali Road areas of Mumbai spring to life with eateries offering up delicious preparations of kebabs, nihari, biryani, phirni, malpua and more. While the appeal of it is not stranger to most, celebrities also find themselves making their way to these places to sample some mouth-watering food during the season. Among them, Farah Khan has known to be a regular patron of a popular eatery in Bhendi Bazar, called Shabbir’s Tawakkal Sweets.

The choreographer-director who has paid a visit previously during Ramadan season, was accompanied by Jhalak Dikhla Jaa contestant, Faisal Shaikh – for an iftar meal that was nothing short of sumptuous. The duo started off by trying a preparation called bawda – a dish of slow-cooked shoulder of lamb that cooks for 12 hours to be eaten with tandoori rotis, followed by the ‘mind-blowing’ nalli nihari that Farah seemed gracious enough to serve to those present. While Farah joked that she’s known to eat her husband’s brain throughout the year, she was making an exception for the evening to enjoy some bheja fry cooked with butter and black pepper.

The video she shared on social media also saw the two fellow diners take a bite of the mutton roll and were soon transported to a food coma by a giant, freshly-fried malpua. A small glimpse of the video also showed a menu that listed some of the eatery’s Ramadan specials like Mango Malai, Walnut Malai, Black Currant Malai, Chocolate Walnut Fudge and an Assorted Malai Platter. Captioning the video, Farah said, “Every ramzaan bhindi bazaar is a must! Especially @shabbirstawakkalsweets.. had my lovely boy @mr_faisu_07 with me this time.. n what a feast we were served by my friend @itstahershabbir n family.”
