Diwali 2023: 4 Cocktails To Amp Up Your Festive Mood

Diwali is here and we are all set to enjoy this festival of lights. Celebrated in the month of Kartik, this year it falls on November 12. It is dedicated to the victory of light over darkness. On this day we decorate our houses, light diyas, make rangolis and worship Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi. Diwali is also a time to indulge in various delectable delicacies. 

During this festival, we invite our friends and family over for card parties and other fun activities. It is an occasion to spend some quality time with our loved ones. If you have also planned the same, we have got you some boozy drinks to amp up the festive mood. Here are four interesting cocktail recipes shared by Radico Khaitan: 

Vanilla Martini 


Ingredients: 

  • 45 ml Magic Moments dazzle vanilla vodka 
  • 10 ml vanilla liqueur 
  • Splash of lemon juice 
  • lemon peel (for garnish) 
  • Ice cubes

Method

  • Fill the shaker with ice cubes, Magic Moments Dazzle Vanilla Vodka, vanilla liqueur and lemon juice.  
  • Give it a gentle shake.  
  • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with lemon peel. 

Morpheus Sidecar 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 1/2 ounces Morpheus Brandy 
  • 3/4-ounce orange liqueur (such as Cointreau) 
  • 3/4-ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed 
  • Garnish: orange twist 
  • Garnish: sugar rim (optional) 

Method 

  • Coat the rim of a coupe glass with sugar, if desired, and set aside. 
  • Add Morpheus Brandy, orange liqueur & lemon juice to a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. 
  • Strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with an orange twist. Serve chilled and enjoy. 

Morpheus Metropolitan 


Ingredients: 

  • 2 ounces Morpheus Brandy 
  • 1-ounce Vermouth 
  • 1/2 teaspoon simple syrup 
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters 

Method 

  • In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add Morpheus Brandy, Vermouth, simple syrup and bitter. 
  • Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 
  • Serve and enjoy. 

Morpheus Hot Toddy 

Ingredients:

  • Boiling water, to fill a mug 
  • 4 cloves 
  • 1 lemon peel or wheel 
  • 2 teaspoons sugar 
  • 1/4-ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed 
  • 2 ounces Morpheus Brandy 

Method 

  • Fill a mug with boiling water and let stand for a minute or two to warm. 
  • Meanwhile, stick the cloves into the lemon peel or wheel and set aside. 
  • Empty the mug and fill about halfway with fresh boiling water. 
  • Add the sugar and stir to dissolve. 
  • Add the prepared lemon peel or wheel and stir. 
  • Add the lemon juice and Morpheus Brandy and stir again. 
  • Serve and enjoy.
