Demystifying The Red Velvet Lava Cake: An Easy Recipe You Will Love

This molten lava cake is everything you want in life and more, it’s sweet, it’s delicious and it’s totally worth making at least once. This is one of those desserts that you must try and must try alone.

Food nothing is not an experiment; the physics behind molten chocolate coming from your cake may seem too difficult, so here we have crafted this recipe to help you out. 


You’ll Need

1/3 cup of white chocolate

3 tbsp of butter

1/4 cup of white sugar

1 egg

3 tbsp of flour

1 tbsp of cocoa powder

1/2 tsp of vanilla essence 

1/2 tbsp red food liquid colouring 

powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions 

  1. In a double boiler, melt the white chocolate. The double broiler melts the chocolate at a gentle pace. 
  2. Follow, that by the butter and stir until butter is completely incorporated. Stir in sugar until smooth.
  3. Whisk in the egg until the batter is smooth. 
  4. Slowly add in the flour and cocoa powder and whisk until smooth. You can use a sieve to pass the cocoa powder if it has too many lumps. 
  5. And in food colouring and continue whisking. 
  6. Mix in the food colour and fold carefully. 
  7. Use a ramekin, that holds at least two cups worth of batter and grease the ramekin with either butter or oil. 
  8. Divide the batter into a ramekin and fridge it for at least two hours. 
  9. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and bake for 15-17 minutes. 
  10. Remove from the oven, and don’t dig into till ten minutes. 
  11. Eat right out of the ramekin our slip the ramekin onto a plate and garnish into berries and powdered sugar.
