3 Delicious Nepali Dishes To Try At Home

Today, in this article, we will tell you about not one but three such recipes, which you can quickly try at home. These recipes are pretty popular in Nepal and can be made at home. Moreover, these dishes do not take much time or effort to prepare, so let’s dig into them without further ado.

Chataamari

Ingredients:

  1. Cumin-coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  2. Onion-tomato - 1 finely chopped
  3. Ginger-garlic paste - 1/2 spoon
  4. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Green vegetables - 1 cup
  6. Coriander leaves - 1 tsp
  7. Rice flour - 2 cups
  8. Salt - as per taste
  9. Cheese - 2 spoon
  10. Black pepper - 2

Method:

  1. First, add a little water to the rice flour and knead it well. Make sure it is neither too thick nor too thin.
  2. Mix green vegetables, onion, coriander leaves, chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, tomato and salt. 
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry these well.
  4. After this, put rice flour in the baking tray in the shape of a pancake; put cheese and mixture on top.
  5. Now preheat the oven to 200 degrees and turn it off after cooking for about 15-20 minutes.

Yomari

Ingredients:

  1. Coconut - 2 teaspoons grated
  2. Black sesame - 1/2 teaspoon
  3. Dates - 1 finely chopped
  4. Salt - according to taste
  5. Salt - according to taste
  6. Jaggery - 4 teaspoons
  7. Rice flour - 200 grams
  8. Flour - 2 teaspoons

Method:

  1. First, put water and jaggery in a pan. Heat it well.
  2. Now, put coconut and dates in it; heat it, and turn off the gas after some time. 
  3. After this, add this water to the rice flour and maida. Finally, knead the dough, and keep it aside.
  4. After 10 minutes, apply oil to your hands and make the dough in the shape of yomari.
  5. After this, in another vessel, steam the yomari with jaggery water for about 20-25 minutes.

Sel Roti

Ingredients:

  1. Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  2. Sugar powder - 100 grams
  3. Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  4. Butter - 50 grams
  5. Rice - 500 grams
  6. Oil as required

Method:

  1. To make sel roti, first, soak the rice in the water a day before.
  2. Put the rice in a mixer the next day, grind it well, and take it out in a vessel.
  3. Add sugar, baking soda, cardamom powder to the rice paste and mix well. Now put oil for heating in a pan.
  4. After this, put the paste in a plastic container and make a small hole in it from beneath.
  5. Put it in the hot oil round shape and fry it till it becomes golden.
