Sel Roti is a sweet dish prepared in parts of nepal. It is made out of fermented, semolina, rice flour and flour batter. It is a traditional homemade ring shaped rice which is sweet in taste. It is mostly prepared during dahsin and Tihar, a widely celebrated Hindu festival in Nepal and Sikkim. It is widely served with main course. Sel roti is rounded edibles, compared to the shape of round donuts.

Ingredients for Sel Roti Recipe

  • 1/2 kilogram semolina/ suji
  • 25 gram rice flour
  • 25 gram All purpose flour
  • 1/2 glass lukewarm water
  • 100 gram Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 liter refined oil

Directions: Sel Roti Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients. Now gradually add water and whisk it.

step 2

  • STEP 1.cover and keep aside for 10-12 hours.

step 4

  • STEP 1.4 take a ketchup bottle and fill it with the prepared paste.

step 6

  • STEP 1.In a pan heat some oil. Pour the batter in hot oil and make a circular ring.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Cook it on low flame from both the sides till they turn golden brown.
